Coach Sam prides herself on being a fierce competitor while maintaining the qualities of an excellent leader and teammate both on and off the field. Prior to playing for Rutgers University Newark, Sam was a member of the Philadelphia Spirit, where she was a starting catcher, first basemen, third basemen as well as a key power hitter. It was during her years of travel ball, she learned the ins and outs of how to dominate on the field. It was her hardwork and dedication that led her to receiving multiple awards including Rutgers-Newark’s honorable award “Women of the Year” in 2021.

What sets Sam apart from other coaches is her aspiration to make each player feel noticed and to assist them in realizing their own potential not only as players, but as young women. She recognizes that hard work and motivation are what each player needs in order to get them to the next level, and she praises each player for her achievements along the way. She knows it takes hard work to come out on top, and teaches each of her players the dedication it takes to succeed. Sam follows an athlete-centered coaching style to allow each of her players to achieve their highest form of play. Correct mechanics, physical strength, mental knowledge and overall confidence are four areas in which you will see your player grow while working with Coach Sam.
